From groundbreaking innovations to impactful community partnerships, our founders are making significant strides in their respective fields. Today, we are thrilled to highlight some of the remarkable wins shared in our most recent alumni quarterly survey.

Jessica Redmon – Apple & Anchor

Jessica Redmon, Co-Founder of Apple & Anchor, was featured in Nashville Voyager’s Hidden Gems series. 

Michelle Watkins – Global PMO Partners

Michelle Watkins, founder of Global PMO Partners, was highlighted in CEO Weekly for revolutionizing project portfolio management. Her innovative approaches are setting new standards in the industry. 

Kayla Hall – The City Juicery

Kayla Hall, Founder of The City Juicery and current Twende Alum, has opened her first café location. She is also set to launch in the EC café this August. Kayla, a PreFlight graduate, continues to exemplify entrepreneurial spirit and growth.

Jasmine Williamson – Tea Rose

Jasmine Williamson, Founder of Tea Rose and current Twende Alum, secured a partnership with the Lipscomb University Women’s Track & Field team for the 3rd Annual Princess ParTea on August 25th. Tea Rose has also exceeded its 2023 revenue by the end of Q2 2024, showcasing impressive growth and success.

Maryam Abdallah – I am Well Consulting, LLC

Maryam Abdallah, Founder of I am Well Consulting, LLC and current Twende Alum, achieved certification as a Minority-Owned Small Business with the Governor’s Office of Diversity Business Enterprise (GO-DBE). This certification marks a significant milestone in her entrepreneurial journey.

Sonya Jones – GIP Financials

Sonya Jones, Founder of GIP Financials and current Twende Alum, has secured three fractional CFO clients and is coaching two entrepreneurs through the Memphis Medical District Collaborative. Her dedication to financial empowerment and mentorship is truly commendable.

National Black Business Month Highlights

In celebration of National Black Business Month in August, six Twende founders were featured in Urbaanite. Congrats to the businesses selected: The City Juicery, Boutique Disposal, Who Spilled The Veggies Co., Homeland Heart, Provision Health Solutions, and Creative Marks. 

Kamal Singh and Thor Jensen – Halitra

Kamal Singh and Thor Jensen, Co-Founders of Halitra and incoming Project FinTech cohort members, were awarded a $650,000 competitive grant from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) to pilot innovative climate finance approaches. This grant will significantly advance their mission to combat climate change.

Alex McLeod – Parlay

Alex McLeod, Co-Founder of Parlay and Project FinTech alumnus, was selected as one of eight global startups to participate in Mastercard’s Start Small Business programThis opportunity underscores Parlay’s potential on the global stage.

Alfred Milan – Express Wages

Alfred Milan, Founder of Express Wages and current Project FinTech participant, was featured as a speaker for Epicenter’s “Building it Here” Happy Hour series.  Alfred’s insights and experiences are making waves in the entrepreneurial community.

R.J. Romeo – Romeo Entertainment

R.J. Romeo, Founder of Romeo Entertainment, was featured in the “My Music Row Story” weekly column. This recognition celebrates his contributions to the music industry and the impact of Romeo Entertainment Group.

Ira Akers – CUE Audio

Ira Akers, Co-Founder of CUE Audio and current Project Music & Entertainment participant, secured a contract to provide services to multiple venues for the Paris Olympics. This achievement highlights the global reach and innovation of CUE Audio.

Nikki Sanz – Giggs

Nikki Sanz, Founder of Giggs and current Project Music & Entertainment participant, launched her podcast with three impressive first guests: Thomas O’Keefe (Weezer tour manager), Olly Rowland (Dolly Parton production manager), and Lolo Kinser (Tim McGraw tour coordinator). Nikki’s podcast promises to offer valuable insights into the music industry.
