PROJECT MUSIC BOLSTERS INVESTMENT, LANDS GOOGLE & GROWS TEAM

NASHVILLE, Tenn., (Nov. 26, 2014) – Project Music, the country’s only music and technology business accelerator, operating in partnership with the Nashville Entrepreneur Center (EC) and the Country Music Association (CMA), is delighted to announce an increased financial investment in each of the eight participating companies, as well as the addition of key partners and industry experts to its 2015 program.

Each startup entering the accelerator will now receive $30,000 in seed capital in exchange for a small equity stake. This increase has been made possible by Digital Entertainment Ventures (DEV), an early stage venture capital and advisory firm headquartered in New York City.

In addition, Google has officially joined Project Music as a sponsor. Google’s involvement adds technical, industry and investment expertise to the program, as well as opportunities to reach an even greater audience. Google’s support comes on the heels of YouTube’s recent commitment to a year-long series of workshops in Nashville, which includes a partnership with the CMA, to equip the music community with the latest ways to grow audiences and revenue across Google and YouTube.

Project Music is excited to onboard Google as they bring increased access to the resources already available through the current program partners, which include: Decosimo/Vaden, Avenue Bank, Flo {thinkery} and Anderson Benson Insurance.

Project Music has also added music industry veteran, Heather McBee, to the team. Heather, formerly VP of Digital and Marketing at Sony and Operations Director at Cumulus Media’s America’s Morning Show, brings over 20 years of industry knowledge and experience to the Project Music team.

Project Music is a 14-week program that will accelerate the growth of the selected startups into investable businesses for the music industry ecosystem in Nashville. The program begins on January 18th, 2015.
